Privacy at Credithero
Plain-language summary of what we collect and why. Last updated July 2026.
What we collect
Account information
Your email address and login credentials, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk).
Profile you provide
Province, newcomer status, age range, employment status, income range, years in Canada, and your credit goals. Age and income are collected as ranges, not exact values.
Credit details you enter
Your self-reported credit score, whether you've missed payments, number of recent applications, autopay status, and the cards you add (name, limit, and balance).
AI interactions
The questions you ask the AI Coach and the text you submit to the AI Tools (Explainer, Simulator, Goal Planner).
What we don't collect
- Your Social Insurance Number (SIN) or other government IDs
- Your bank or credit card login credentials — we never connect to your accounts
- A hard credit-bureau inquiry — your score is self-reported and estimated, so using Credithero does not affect your credit
- Your exact date of birth, exact income, or street address
How we use your information
We use the details you provide to calculate your credit health, build your action plan, and generate reminders. AI features send your profile and health summary — along with the question or text you submit — to Google Gemini to produce a response. We use this data to operate and improve Credithero, not to sell it.
A note on AI features
Text you type into the AI Coach or paste into the AI Tools is processed by a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini). Please avoid including sensitive personal details such as full account numbers, your SIN, or passwords in what you submit.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Credithero:
Retention and deletion
Your saved data stays in your account until you delete it. When your account is removed, the associated profile, credit details, plans, reminders, and AI history are deleted along with it.
